Addressing concerns about the alleged sale to the Chinese, Bomboko sought clarification from traders on the identity of the buyer and questioned which government official had announced the change in market use.

He also highlighted the lack of engagement with traders by the Ubungo Municipal Council, emphasizing the need for dialogue rather than confrontations that could escalate into violence.

“There is politics in which these movements have started in many places, seven years ago this market was built permanent booths, the owner of this area is the Ubungo Municipal Council, as the Mayor and Chairman of the Council they have never held a meeting with these other traders it is violence”
