President Bola Tinubu Affirms Nigeria’s Willingness to Engage in Talks with Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Niger Despite Recent Coups

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has expressed the country’s readiness to engage in discussions with Mali, Guinea, Burkina Faso, and Niger Republic, despite the recent coups in these nations and the decision of three of them to pull out from ECOWAS.

During the AU summit, the President emphasized that disagreements arising from unconstitutional changes of government should not lead to a permanent breakdown of the longstanding regional relationships and cooperation.

In his statement, President Tinubu stated, “To all who care to listen, I declare that if you come to the table to discuss important matters in good faith, you will find Nigeria and ECOWAS already sitting there waiting to greet you as the brother that you are.”
