Kinana Resigns from CCM Vice Chairmanship

A  long-serving stalwart of Tanzania’s ruling party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Abdulrahman Kinana  has officially resigned from his position as Vice Chairman.

His resignation marks the end of a significant chapter in the party’s leadership history. Kinana has been a prominent figure within CCM, known for his substantial contributions to the party’s development and success over the years.

Kinana’s decision to step down was formally accepted by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, who also serves as the Chairperson of CCM. In his resignation letter, Kinana expressed his wish to retire from active political duties, citing a desire for rest after years of dedicated service. President Samia, acknowledging the depth of Kinana’s service and his critical role in the party, accepted his resignation with a heavy heart.

She expressed her profound gratitude for his contributions and noted that the party would continue to seek his counsel and expertise whenever necessary.

President Samia stated, “It is true that when I asked you to assist us as Vice Chairman, I promised it would be for a short time as you requested. I truly wished you could continue, but as you have earnestly requested to step down, I must reluctantly grant your wish.”
