Same East Prepares for Local Government Elections

The District Commissioner of Same, Kaslida Mgeni, has urged residents of the district to actively register in the permanent voters’ roll to ensure they can fully participate in the upcoming local government elections.

Speaking during a voluntary jogging event held in the Maore ward of Same East constituency, Kaslida emphasized that this election presents a crucial opportunity for citizens to select capable leaders who can effectively address their challenges. She cautioned the public against falling prey to bribery and instead encouraged them to focus on the qualifications and integrity of the candidates.

Additionally, Member of Parliament for Same East, Anne Kilango Malecela, stated that she has visited 46 villages and 201 hamlets, where she found a strong readiness among the residents to participate in the elections. She noted that the community is eagerly awaiting election day to choose leaders who will serve them effectively.

The jogging event, aimed at promoting voter registration and participation in the local government elections, brought together over 1,000 residents, highlighting the importance of civic engagement in the electoral process.
