Today, on July 22, 2024, there have been reports circulating online about the death of gospel singer Bonny Mwaitege, allegedly following an accident while on a gospel mission in Kenya.
Mwaitege, known for songs like “Utanitambuaje,” “Dunia Dunia,” “Mke Kwema,” “Sisi Sote” and others, has made headlines with many posting his pictures and wishing him to rest in peace.

However, in the afternoon, some close associates including relatives, family members, and fellow singers like Rose Muhando and Stella, who are gospel singers, denied the reports of his death.
Through the social media platform WhatsApp in an artists’ group, Stella posted a voice note expressing her dismay at the media outlets that published the news of Mwaitege’s death without confirmation.
She stated that she had spoken with Bonny and confirmed he is alive and well.
She urged everyone to ignore the false death reports and instead join in praying for him.
“I have spoken with Bonny Mwaitege and he is well, with no issues. Please let’s disregard these death reports and focus on spreading accurate information.”
She also requested people to continue praying for him, emphasizing that spreading false death rumors is not appropriate.
