The Dodoma Regional Police Force has launched an investigation into the mysterious death of Telesphore Mwakalinga, a four-year-old child who went missing on July 17 and was found dead in the early hours of yesterday morning in the Nyumba 300 area of Kisasa in Dodoma. The child’s body was discovered with a severed arm and missing genitalia.
Dodoma Regional Police Commander, Theopista Mallya, speaking to Media about the incident, confirmed that the police received the report of the child’s death and are currently investigating to determine the cause of the murder.

“Yes, the incident occurred in the Nyumba 300 area where the child and his family lived. He went missing on July 17 and was found dead early this morning (yesterday),” Commander Mallya said.
Commander Mallya explained that while the police were patrolling the area, an officer noticed a dog with something in its mouth. Upon closer inspection, they found the body of the young child, who was already deceased.
The body was found with a severed arm and missing genitalia, and the report was immediately filed with the police.
Commander Mallya said the child went missing at around 6 PM, and his body was discovered at 10 PM, with some of his organs removed.
Commander Mallya stated that the child’s death remains shrouded in mystery, caused by individuals with their own selfish interests.
“The police are continuing to investigate this mysterious incident to determine the cause of death from the doctors so that further steps can be taken and all those involved can be arrested,” she said.
She also emphasized that parents should monitor their children, especially in the evenings, and report to the police if they see suspicious individuals loitering in various neighborhoods.
Commander Mallya said the child’s body has been preserved in the mortuary of the Dodoma Regional Referral Hospital, while the police await a medical report on the cause of the child’s death.
