Tsh30 Bln allocated to TARURA to repaire damaged roads

Deputy Minister of the President's Office for Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), Hon. Deogratius Ndejembi, has stated that the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, has directed the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) to be allocated 30 billion Tanzanian Shillings to address the road challenges in various parts of the country.

Deputy Minister of the President’s Office for Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), Hon. Deogratius Ndejembi, has stated that the Minister of Finance, Dr. Mwigulu Nchemba, has directed the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) to be allocated 30 billion Tanzanian Shillings to address the road challenges in various parts of the country.

Hon. Ndejembi made this statement today in Dodoma while contributing to an emergency motion presented by the Member of Parliament for Rorya in Mara region, Hon. Jafar Chege, regarding the poor condition of roads across the country.

Deputy Minister Ndejembi mentioned that the sixth-phase government led by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan recognizes the road deterioration in the country due to heavy rainfall, and swift measures to address this challenge have already been initiated.

“I want to assure all Members of Parliament that this challenge will be resolved as funds have already been disbursed to TARURA. The Minister of Finance, after consultations with the Minister of State in the President’s Office for Regional Administration and Local Government, directed the additional 350 billion Shillings to TARURA from the approved 810 billion Shillings budget to commence the projects and announce them to swiftly resolve this challenge.”

“I particularly thank President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for empowering TARURA by increasing its budget from the initial 226 billion Shillings to 810 billion Shillings. This demonstrates her profound commitment to improving road infrastructure across various regions in the country,” stated Hon. Ndejembi.
