The government, has successfully completed a comprehensive overhaul of weighbridge facilities along the Morogoro-Iringa highway, undertaken by the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS).
This ambitious infrastructure project, costing 1.9 billion Tanzanian shillings, includes significant upgrades to existing weighbridge systems and the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility at Mikumi. These enhancements are poised to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance efficiency along critical transport routes.
The initiative was prompted by escalating levels of production and transportation activities along the Tanzam highway, revealing the inadequacies of the existing weighbridge in handling the increasing volume of vehicles. As a result, the government decided to modernize the infrastructure to meet current demands and ensure seamless traffic flow.
Central to the project’s improvements are advanced sensor technologies installed at the weighbridges. These sensors are designed to accurately measure and report vehicle weights, facilitating streamlined operations. Vehicles compliant with weight regulations can now bypass the weighbridge, optimizing transit times and reducing operational delays. Those exceeding weight limits are directed to undergo weighing procedures, promoting adherence to transport regulations and enhancing road safety.

The completion of this project underlines Tanzania’s efforts towards infrastructure development and economic growth. By investing in modern technologies and upgrading vital transport infrastructure, the government aims to foster sustainable development and attract further investments in the transport sector.
Moving forward, these advancements are expected to have a transformative impact on logistics and supply chain operations, benefiting businesses and communities across the region. The project’s successful completion reflects Tanzania’s proactive approach to infrastructure modernization under President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s leadership, paving the way for future enhancements in the country’s transport network.
Just because you have a public (IPv6, because you can’t afford public IPv4 addresses) address on a device, doesn’t mean that it is accessable from internet Your home router have a firewall, today and will have tomorrow It is just that IPv4 NAT is such a mess that you need to figure out, AND then figure out the firewall rulesWith IPv6 you only need to handle the firewall, as there are no NAT Which is a blessingAnd as your ISP will give you 256 public IPv6 /64 network LAN addresses, you can set up some networks for IoT-stuff that phone home, separated by a firewall from your file server, and separated from your media servers and game consoles, and separate from your personal machines and your spouse machines and children machines and guests machinesJust mainly managing networks, and not single machines in one single LAN, as in IPv4 And if one of your machines get hacked and a tunnel, in this IPv6 network, you are still secured Even if your IoT stuff that phones home to their server still get secured in a LAN of their ownSecurity are easier with IPv6 And can be made even easier with some proper UI in the home router
Some genuinely excellent information, Gladiola I detected this.
