Solomon Mwalavila Dies in Car Accident, Mlandizi

Speaking to Mwananchi Digital via phone today, August 4, 2024, Pwani Regional Police Commander Pius Lutumo confirmed that Mwalavila passed away today after his car was rear-ended by a sand truck.

“Yes, the incident happened today at 12:30 PM in the Mlandizi area. He was traveling from Dar es Salaam to the upcountry regions when his car was hit from behind by a sand truck, and he died on the spot,” he said.

Lutumo mentioned that Mwalavila’s child, Midrick Solomon, who sustained minor injuries on various parts of his body, was in the car with him.

“He usually travels with his child whenever he travels, so they were together at the time of the accident,” he added.

Lutumo also said they are searching for the sand truck driver, Ramadhani Mkusa, a resident of Zegereni, Kibaha, who fled the scene.

“We are looking for the driver, and the deceased’s body has been preserved at Mlandizi Kibaha Hospital,” he said.16:22
