Young Africans, one of Tanzania’s top football clubs, has had its transfer ban lifted by FIFA after settling overdue payments to former player Lazarus Kambole.

This decision comes after the club complied with FIFA’s directive to clear the outstanding salary and breach-of-contract compensation owed to Kambole.

Kambole, a Zambian international, had lodged a complaint with FIFA due to unpaid wages following his tenure with Young Africans. Despite being given 45 days to resolve the payment, the club initially failed to comply, leading to the imposition of a transfer ban by FIFA. This ban restricted Young Africans from registering both domestic and international players.

The Tanzanian Football Federation (TFF) also enforced this ban, emphasizing the importance of clubs adhering to contractual obligations with players and coaches to avoid such sanctions. TFF’s Information Officer, Clifford Ndimbo, confirmed that the club had now met all requirements and the ban had been lifted, allowing them to resume player transfers.

This is not the first time Young Africans has faced such penalties. The club was previously sanctioned for similar issues involving other former players and coaches, including unpaid dues to Gael Bigirimana and former head coach Luc Eymael. The club’s financial difficulties have led to multiple transfer bans in recent years, highlighting ongoing challenges in managing their contractual commitments.

The recent lifting of the ban is a significant relief for the club as it prepares for the upcoming season. Young Africans’ management expressed gratitude for the support and patience of their fans and vowed to avoid such issues in the future by adhering to FIFA’s regulations and maintaining better financial discipline.

As Young Africans looks forward to strengthening their squad, the lifting of the transfer ban provides an opportunity to bolster their team ahead of domestic and international competitions. The club aims to compete more effectively and reclaim their position as one of the top teams in African football.

With the resolution of Kambole’s case, Young Africans can now focus on their strategic goals and player development without the constraints of a transfer embargo. The club’s leadership remains committed to improving its administrative and financial practices to ensure long-term stability and success.

For the upcoming season, fans can expect Young Africans to actively engage in the transfer market, seeking new talents to enhance their squad and improve their performance both locally and on the continental stage. The club’s proactive approach in addressing FIFA’s concerns demonstrates a renewed commitment to professionalism and compliance in all aspects of their operations
