Black Stars Skipper Andre Ayew Omitted from World Cup Qualifiers Squad.
Otto Addo revealed his 26-man team for the upcoming crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Mali and the Central African Republic. During a press conference on Wednesday, Addo shared that he had a detailed conversation with the Ghana appearance record holder, Andre Ayew, regarding the decision but chose to keep the specifics private.

“I discussed at length with Andre and provided him with the rationale for his exclusion from the squad,” Addo stated. “I prefer to have direct communication with players and do not disclose the details of our conversations. This was the decision we made, and while he may not necessarily agree, I hold him in high regard.”
Ayew, aged 34, has netted 5 goals in 19 league games for French Ligue 1 outfit Le Havre this season.
Ghana, currently positioned 4th in the standings with three points, is set to play Mali in Bamako on June 6 before clashing with the Central African Republic in Kumasi on June 10.
