Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa met today with Dr. Mehmet Gulluoglu, the outgoing Turkish Ambassador to Tanzania, in a farewell meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Magogoni office.
The discussion served as an opportunity to reflect on the ambassador’s term and the growing ties between Turkey and Tanzania.
During their talks, Majaliwa expressed his appreciation for Dr. Gulluoglu’s service in Tanzania and his role in advancing the bilateral relationship. The Prime Minister encouraged Dr. Gulluoglu to continue advocating for Tanzania internationally, noting that the ambassador’s experience in the country has given him a deep understanding of Tanzania’s investment and tourism potential.
“Tanzania has abundant opportunities for investment and tourism,” Majaliwa said, urging Dr. Gulluoglu to promote Tanzania’s offerings to investors and tourists in Turkey and beyond. He also highlighted Tanzania’s commitment to continuing its collaborative partnership with Turkey, emphasizing that economic ties between the two nations have strengthened through initiatives in areas such as infrastructure, energy, and tourism.
Dr. Gulluoglu responded by thanking the Tanzanian government for its support and cooperation during his time as ambassador. He noted that the friendship between Tanzania and Turkey has been enhanced through various joint projects and initiatives and expressed optimism that these efforts would continue to benefit both nations.
