The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Arts, and Sports, Gerson Msigwa, has invited investors from Russia to explore the many untapped opportunities in Tanzania, including the gas sector.
While opening a meeting between Tanzanian and Russian businesspeople at the Russia Day business forum, he emphasized the numerous investment opportunities available in the country and extended an invitation to Russian investors to engage in these prospects.
Msigwa highlighted the abundant investment opportunities in the mining and gas sectors, encouraging Russian investors to take advantage of them. He assured that the government is ready to cooperate and support these ventures.
He stated that the government’s initiative aims to create a better platform for enhancing trade and investment collaboration between the two countries.
“Tanzania still requires significantinvestment. Today is Russia Day, and alongside the speeches given by leaders, businesspeople have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas,” he said.
He added that since the country still needs investments in various sectors, including agriculture, mining, business, tourism, and others, the government has established a favorable framework for such engagements.

The Russian Ambassador to Tanzania, Andrew Avetisyan, said that the forum is crucial for businesspeople from both countries to exchange experiences and investment opportunities.
He stated that Russia and Tanzania have had a good partnership, and the event will be used to showcase various products from both countries.
“We are ready to assist Tanzanian businesspeople and invest in the country while exchanging experiences and skills in various matters,” Avetisyan said.
Avetisyan emphasized that the forum is essential for businesspeople from both countries to share experiences and explore investment opportunities.
