Citizens have been asked to pay taxes voluntarily by realizing that the Government cannot implement development projects without collecting income from various sources including the daily activities of individuals.
The opinion has been given by the Deputy Secretary General of Treasury Services, Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Jenifa Christian Omolo, when she visited the 48th International Trade Fair (Sabasaba) held at Julius Nyerere grounds, Kilwa Road, Temeke, Dar es Salaam.
Ms. Omolo said that the enabling infrastructure that stimulates development and increases the country’s income and individuals comes from funds collected through taxes and other activities.
On the other hand, he has mentioned the services available in the Pavilion of the Ministry of Finance as including education about the Government Budget, Policy, investment, pensions and inheritance, public procurement and supply, colleges of higher education, financial systems, statistics, tax appeals, arbitration and banking services.

In addition, he has congratulated the colleges under the Ministry of Finance for developing various innovations through young people, where he has asked the management of those colleges to develop them and also to conduct research to solve the challenges of the people.
Ms. Omolo has asked citizens to visit the Pavilion of the Ministry of Finance to be able to gain an understanding of the services and responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance and its institutions so that they can help them in their duties.
He said that the service providers in the Pavilion of the Ministry of Finance are well organized to ensure that they provide appropriate services to citizens who will visit the 48th International Trade Fair (Sabasaba).
