Tanzania’s Vice President, Dr. Philip Mpango, has called for a renewed focus on research and innovation within the nation’s universities, emphasizing that such efforts are key to transforming higher education and driving national progress.

Speaking at the 27th graduation ceremony of Iringa University, Dr. Mpango highlighted the urgent need for institutions to channel resources into science, technology, and creative teaching approaches.

Dr. Mpango noted that for Tanzanian universities to stay relevant in a competitive global landscape, they must embrace cutting-edge research that addresses pressing societal challenges.
