The Mtwara Regional Commissioner, Colonel Patrick Sawala, has commended the effective management of projects being implemented in the Mtwara Mikindani Municipality.
He made the remarks during his visit to various projects in the region, urging for increased efforts to ensure timely completion and maximize benefits for residents.
During the visit, Colonel Sawala called on the Mtwara Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (MTUWASA) to ensure residents have consistent access to water services.
“It is crucial for citizens to receive water services without interruptions as this is their fundamental right,” he stated.

Meanwhile, some residents of Mtwara appealed to the government to expedite the completion of the district hospital building to alleviate the burden of traveling long distances to access healthcare services.
The inspection tour included visits to several projects such as the District Hospital of Mtwara, the administrative building of the Mtwara Regional Police Commander, classrooms at Magomeni Primary School, and the MTUWASA water project.
Colonel Sawala pledged to closely monitor the implementation of these projects to ensure they are completed on time and meet the required standards, emphasizing that the projects aim to improve the quality of life for the people of Mtwara.
