Commissioner of Conservation, Mussa Nassoro Kuji – Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA) received a total of 13 refurbished vehicles from the international conservation organization, Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS), under the Emergency and Recovery Support for Biodiversity (ERSB) project.
Speaking at the handover ceremony held at the FZS offices in Arusha, Commissioner Kuji stated, “The vehicles we have received will be directed towards conservation and tourism activities to enhance the protection of natural resources within the National Parks.”
Commissioner Kuji also called on FZS to continue expanding their conservation efforts to support the larger Tanzanian community.

Dr. Ezekiel Dembe, the Resident Director of Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS), explained that TANAPA has been collaborating effectively with the organization in advancing conservation efforts. He noted that the refurbished vehicles will be distributed across more than ten National Parks to bolster conservation activities.
The benefiting National Parks include Burigi-Chato, Ugalla River, Ibanda-Kyerwa, Rubondo Island, Mahale Mountains, Rumanyika-Karagwe, Mkomazi, Serengeti, Lake Manyara, and Katavi.
The 13 vehicles were taken from Serengeti National Park last year by FZS for repairs, utilizing local mechanics.
The Frankfurt Zoological Society (FZS) has made significant contributions to natural resource conservation in the country, including supporting various projects that involve community and conservation efforts.
