The Permanent Parliamentary Committee on Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), led by Vice Chairman Hon. Justine Nyamoga, has called on the officials and staff of the Urambo District Council to oversee development projects with integrity to achieve the goals and objectives of the respective projects.
Hon. Nyamoga made this appeal during a summary meeting of an inspection tour of the implementation of education infrastructure projects through the BOOST and SEQUIP programs in the district of Tabora. The projects are aimed at improving the quality of education and ensuring that students have access to better learning environments.
He emphasized that sound management systems are crucial in the execution of development projects. Therefore, when the government allocates funds for projects, the council must ensure proper and close supervision so that the allocated funds achieve the specific goals of the projects.

Hon. Nyamoga stressed the importance of accountability and transparency in managing these funds to prevent any misuse or mismanagement that could hinder the success of the projects.
Furthermore, Hon. Nyamoga stated that the committee was satisfied with the implementation and progress of these projects. Notably, the SEQUIP project at Igunguli Secondary School in Uyogo Ward has been completed and the school is now operational.
This project has been particularly beneficial for the local community, as it has significantly reduced the distance students previously had to travel to attend school. Before the project, students had to walk 13 kilometers to reach the nearest school, but now they have access to education within their own ward.
In addition to the SEQUIP project, the BOOST project for Samia Early Childhood and Primary School in Urambo Ward has also been successfully implemented. The school is now in use, providing a safe and conducive learning environment for young children. This project has made it easier for children in Urambo Ward to receive education close to their homes, which has had a positive impact on their attendance and overall academic performance.
Expressing gratitude, Urambo District Commissioner Dr. Khamis Athumani Mkanachi thanked the committee for conducting the inspection tour of the projects in Urambo District. He acknowledged the valuable feedback and recommendations provided by the committee and pledged to implement all the directives given. Dr. Mkanachi highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between the government, local authorities, and the community to ensure the sustained success of these development projects..
