The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, and Coordination), Hon. William Lukuvi (MP) of Isimani, has announced that the government, through the Tanzania Social Action Fund (TASAF), plans to build a health center in the Ilolo Mpya ward, Iringa district, during this fiscal year.
He made this statement during his tour to inspect development projects and hold public meetings in five villages: Luganga, Magozi, Mkombilenga, Ukwega, and Ilolo Mpya, located in the Isimani constituency, Iringa region, on September 28, 2024.
He emphasized that the foundation of development is the commitment of the people, and no one should mislead others by claiming that there are no citizens volunteering to promote development. He urged cooperation with leaders encouraging citizens to participate in self-driven development projects.

“His Excellency, the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has approved the construction of a health center, and according to government policy, every ward is expected to have a health center,” said Minister Lukuvi.
TASAF experts will explain how each village will participate in the construction of the buildings to ensure full community involvement in the completion of the health center.
“I congratulate the residents on their development projects, but there are even bigger projects coming, including the construction of a tarmac road from Itunundu to Iringa Town, for which the government has already announced a tender, as well as the tender for the construction of the Magoze canal,” he added.
On his part, TASAF’s Empowerment and Monitoring Officer, Mr. Salim Mshana, stated that the planned construction involves seven buildings to complete the health center.
The buildings will include an outpatient department, a maternity and child unit, a laboratory, an operating theater, a laundry facility, a mortuary, and a two-in-one staff house, with pathways connecting all the buildings.
