Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has reiterated the Tanzanian government’s commitment to collaborate with religious leaders to enhance social cohesion and mobilize citizens for upcoming elections. Speaking at the annual meeting of the Council of Pentecostal Churches in Tanzania (CPCT) at the Central Bible College, Majaliwa urged religious leaders to utilize their influential roles in promoting awareness and participation in the civic polls scheduled for later this year.
Majaliwa emphasized the significant contributions of religious institutions not only in providing spiritual guidance but also in delivering essential social services and fostering economic growth. He highlighted the integral role that religious organizations play in addressing the challenges faced by the people of Tanzania, reinforcing peace and unity, and promoting good morals within communities.
The Prime Minister also called on religious leaders to support the government’s National Development Vision 2050 by engaging their congregations in the process of sharing views and participating in developmental activities. This vision aims to outline the aspirations of Tanzanians for the next 25 years, with a focus on creating a prosperous and united nation.

In his speech, Majaliwa underscored the need for active participation in the upcoming Local Government elections, urging all Tanzanians to register and vote. He stressed that religious leaders, given their close connections with the communities, are well-positioned to encourage voter registration and turnout, thereby contributing to the democratic process and national development.
The government plans to continue its cooperation with religious institutions in various social campaigns, aiming to educate the public on important issues such as good governance, moral conduct, and community development. Majaliwa praised the religious community for its unwavering support and dedication to maintaining peace, stability, and development in Tanzania.
This commitment to fostering strong relationships with religious leaders reflects the government’s broader strategy to engage all sectors of society in its developmental agenda, ensuring that the collective efforts contribute to the nation’s progress and unity.
