Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has issued a directive that all government-funded projects must be completed within this year and start serving the public.
Speaking at a public rally in Mwembetogwa, Iringa, Majaliwa emphasized the importance of timely completion to ensure the government meets its development goals and delivers essential services to citizens.
Highlighting the government’s dedication to public service, Majaliwa noted that the effective functioning of public servants is crucial for addressing citizens’ needs across all regions. He stated, “Our government under President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan continues to monitor the needs of citizens, involving district councils nationwide to ensure they reach out to villages, identify local issues, and begin resolving them.”
Iringa Regional Commissioner Peter Serukamba expressed gratitude to the government for allocating substantial funds for various projects in the region, including water, health, education, roads, telecommunications, and energy sectors. Serukamba highlighted the allocation of TZS 50 billion through the Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) for improving rural road networks.

Majaliwa also announced that all strategic projects are being closely monitored to ensure they meet quality standards and align with their financial allocations. This directive follows his recent call for public institutions in Dodoma to complete their building projects and start operations as part of the government’s plan to relocate key offices to the capital city.
In response to parliamentary inquiries, Majaliwa assured that the Ministry of Finance would continue disbursing funds to ensure all planned projects, including those in the agricultural sector, are completed within the current fiscal year. He also addressed the government’s commitment to settling public servants’ entitlements promptly to maintain morale and efficiency in service delivery.
The government’s push for timely project completion underscores its broader agenda of enhancing infrastructure and service delivery across the country, aiming to foster a conducive environment for socio-economic development and improve the quality of life for all Tanzanians.
