Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Hon. Doto Biteko has ordered the construction of small stations to receive, cool and distribute electricity in peripheral areas to deal with the problem of low voltage and sometimes frequent outages while great efforts have been made to end the problem of allocation in the country.
Dr. Biteko said this (July 7, 2024) while inspecting the progress of the construction of the Ipole receiving, cooling and electricity distribution center, Sikonge District, Tabora Region with 132 KV.

He emphasized that the construction of small stations to receive, cool and distribute electricity in various areas will control the problem of low power when there is an error in the main power line and it will probably be assumed that it is solar energy while it is electricity that comes from the national grid.
In addition, Dr. Biteko has asked the executives of TANESCO and its Subsidiary companies to ensure that citizens get the best and timely services and directed that he be given a report on the progress made in the construction of those centers by July 15, 2024.
“In March this year, the construction was very low, but after pressure and construction management, it has increased to a large extent and thus will enable us to solve the challenges facing the people, so give jobs to contractors and supervise them, we will get results” said Dr. Biteko.
And, the Executive Director of TANESCO Mha. Gissima Nyamo – Hanga has said that the construction of the Ipole center will be completed at the end of August this year and the center will serve the people of Skonge, Kitunda and other neighboring areas.
He said that so far the station has been completed by 97 percent and will be supplying electricity through a voltage of 33 KV.
On his part, the Member of Parliament for Sikonge, Hon. Joseph Kakunda has thanked the Government for the action taken to bring development to the people of the area and mentioned the President, Dr. Samia as a leader of development in the country.
