Minister for Home Affairs Hamad Masauni recently addressed concerns regarding police conduct and reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining high standards within the force.
Speaking during the inauguration of the Daraja B Police Station in Lushoto District, Tanga Region, Masauni acknowledged existing complaints about some police officers but emphasized the need for the force to uphold its oath and remain close to the community.
Masauni urged the police to continue serving the public with greater professionalism, stressing the importance of building trust with citizens through adherence to their vows. “I recognize the presence of complaints from some quarters. Therefore, I am directing the Police Force to ensure that you uphold your oath and remain close to the public. Continue to serve the citizens with greater expertise based on your oath to further increase confidence in our police force and to ensure that we fulfill our fundamental duties,” Masauni stated.
The new Daraja B Police Station, inaugurated as part of efforts to enhance law enforcement infrastructure, is expected to play a crucial role in improving police services in the area. The facility is designed to better support officers in their duties and enhance community-police relations.
