Ahead of the upcoming BRICS Ministerial meeting, the Foreign Ministers of Russia and China, Sergey Lavrov and Wang Yi, held a bilateral meeting today in Moscow.
The two top diplomats discussed a range of important international and regional issues during their talks. According to statements from both foreign ministries, the meeting provided an opportunity for Russia and China to coordinate their positions and strategies on key matters on the BRICS agenda.
Lavrov and Wang emphasized the close strategic partnership between Russia and China, and their shared commitment to multilateralism and reforming the global governance system. They expressed their intent to deepen cooperation within BRICS and other multilateral frameworks to counterbalance Western dominance and promote a more balanced, fair, and multipolar world order.

Both Lavrov and Wang reaffirmed their countries’ resolve to expand BRICS cooperation and collectively advance the interests of the global South on the international stage.
