The Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Abiy Ahmed, has embarked on a three-day visit to Tanzania that starts today and ends on March 2, in response to an invitation extended by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Upon his arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) in Dar es Salaam, Mr Ahmed and his delegation were received by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, January Makamba.
Mr Ahmed will be accorded a formal welcome at the State House in Dar es Salaam on Friday, where he will be received by the host, President Hassan.
His visit aimed to strengthen diplomatic ties between the two countries and bolster economic collaboration in areas such as trade and investment, education, culture, aviation, agriculture, livestock, immigration control, and defense and security.
