Arusha Regional Commissioner, Hon. Paul Makonda, officially inaugurated the Arusha Regional Investment Forum today, May 3, 2025, at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC), calling on Tanzanians—especially Arusha residents—to recognize and seize investment opportunities within the region.

Makonda emphasized that the main goal of the forum is to provide citizens with a deeper understanding of how to invest in various fast-growing economic sectors in Arusha. He urged participants not to merely listen to presentations, but to act on the information they receive.

“We expect the experts and leaders present here to tell us where money can be accessed and how ordinary citizens can invest wisely to avoid financial loss,” Makonda said.

Highlighting a current opportunity, Makonda referenced the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament to be hosted in Arusha. He noted that beyond enjoying the sport, Tanzanians should consider how they can benefit economically from the event.

He further stated that Arusha is blessed with major development projects initiated under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, yet many citizens remain unaware of the investment opportunities these projects offer.

“Today we want to focus on areas where we can transform our lives, the lives of Arusha’s youth, of all Tanzanians, and even foreign partners who wish to collaborate with us,” Makonda added.

The forum is expected to chart a new path for investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers on how to achieve inclusive growth through strategic investments in high-impact sectors.
