President Samia Suluhu Samia has ordered the extension of rescue operations by 24 hours following the collapse of a building in Kariakoo, which has claimed several lives and left many trapped under the rubble.

During a phone conversation with Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa, the President expressed optimism about the possibility of finding more survivors. “I have faith in God’s miracles. Extend the operation for another 24 hours to fight for those we believe are still alive,” she instructed.
