Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa adjourned the parliamentary session on November 8, 2024, announcing that proceedings will resume on January 28, 2025.
In his closing address, Majaliwa highlighted key issues, including the government’s efforts to promote clean cooking energy and support for national sports development.
Majaliwa emphasized that clean cooking energy remains a priority in Tanzania’s efforts to promote health, environmental protection, and sustainable energy use. “The government is committed to ensuring that all Tanzanians have access to clean, affordable cooking solutions that reduce reliance on traditional fuels like firewood and charcoal,” he noted. The initiative aims to tackle indoor air pollution and deforestation associated with traditional cooking methods, which adversely impact health and the environment.
In addition to energy, the Prime Minister also addressed the importance of sports in promoting national unity, youth engagement, and international recognition.

“We are strengthening our sports development programs to create more opportunities for young athletes, enabling them to excel both locally and internationally,” Majaliwa remarked. The government has introduced new policies and allocated resources to develop sports facilities, support local teams, and foster talent across the country.
Members of Parliament will reconvene in January to address these and other pressing national issues.
