At a conference held in Arusha, Deogratius Malangula, a student representative from Ilboru Secondary School, urged the government to separate politics from administration to expedite development.
The conference aimed to gather opinions on the new National Development Vision for 2025/2050.
Malangula expressed his concerns about the implementation of various government activities, particularly in the health and education sectors. He highlighted that these sectors have been hindered by the prioritization of politics over professional execution. He emphasized that this situation has led to a slow pace of national development, pointing out the education sector’s failure to produce professionals with the necessary qualifications for the job market.
Furthermore, he called on the government to revise the current education curriculum to focus more on practical subjects rather than theory. He noted that the current system has failed to produce graduates and professionals capable of contributing effectively to the nation’s development. According to a draft report by the National Curriculum Improvement Committee, there are plans to overhaul the education system to ensure students complete primary and secondary education without being interrupted by a primary school leaving examination. The report also indicates that Kiswahili will remain the primary language of instruction, with English being taught only as a subject.

Malangula also urged the government to increase the number of professionals being trained to compete in the global job market. Statistics indicate that only a few professionals are being prepared, and many lack the necessary qualifications for effective performance.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of government collaboration with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to improve the education and health sectors. Focus Magwesela, Secretary-General of the National Council of NGOs, stressed the importance of transparency and accountability in contracts and the utilization of the country’s resources. He argued that such transparency would ensure that the revenue generated is used to improve public services such as education.
These efforts reflect the determination of students and various stakeholders to ensure that Tanzania achieves sustainable development by prioritizing effective administration and accountability in all government sectors.

Woah! I’m really digging the template/theme of this blog. It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal. I must say that you’ve done a very good job with this. Also, the blog loads very fast for me on Safari. Excellent Blog!
