The Tanzanian government has officially declared an end to the power rationing that has plagued the country for several months, bringing relief to citizens and businesses alike.
This decision comes after a prolonged period of electricity shortages that began in September last year, primarily due to a combination of factors such as drought-induced low water levels affecting hydroelectric power generation and maintenance issues in the national grid infrastructure.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, Dr. Doto Biteko, made the announcement, signaling a positive turn of events in the country’s energy sector. The end of power rationing is attributed to a notable increase in electricity production, indicating progress in resolving the crisis that has adversely impacted various sectors of the economy.
