Deputy Minister in the Office of the President – Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), Hon. Deogratius Ndejembi, has announced that President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has approved the release of emergency funds amounting to 30 billion Tanzanian Shillings for TARURA roads.
Hon. Ndejembi made this statement in Masasi District in Mtwara Region and Ruangwa District in Lindi Region, where he was accompanied by the Minister of Works, Hon. Innocent Bashungwa, to inspect infrastructure affected by the ongoing rainfall in the country.
During the tour, Hon. Ndejembi directed Regional Managers of TARURA nationwide to assess the damage to infrastructure in their areas and promptly begin repair measures to alleviate the challenges facing the citizens.
“I extend my condolences to the residents of these areas where these rains have brought challenges of infrastructure damage, but I assure them that all TARURA roads have already been allocated 30 billion Tanzanian Shillings by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for emergency repairs nationwide.
Therefore, I urge all regional managers to assess the damage that has occurred in their areas and swiftly start addressing these challenges so that our citizens can resume their activities as usual, “he stated
