Given the dynamic nature of activities in the Urban-West region, with its vibrant population and diverse events, the police force is fully prepared to maintain a high level of vigilance during the Eid al-Fitr festivities. Ally underscored the collaborative efforts with other security agencies to bolster security measures and address any potential threats effectively.
As part of their security strategy, a significant number of officers will be stationed at entertainment venues, with patrols conducted on foot, in vehicles, and on motorcycles. To facilitate pedestrian movement and enhance safety, certain roads will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic in the evenings. The Acting RPC urged motorists to adhere to these temporary changes to ensure smooth pedestrian flow and overall safety.
In light of potential security risks during the holiday season, Ally issued a caution to parents, advising against allowing children to venture out unaccompanied. He emphasized the need for households to have a responsible adult present at all times, as criminals may take advantage of the festive period to commit thefts or break-ins.
By implementing these proactive security measures and fostering community awareness, the Zanzibar police aim to create a safe and secure environment for residents and visitors alike during the Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
