The recently launched documentary film Amazing Tanzania has sparked renewed interest in Tanzanian tourism, particularly among Chinese visitors.
Filmed in collaboration with Tanzanian President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, Zanzibar President Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, and popular Chinese actor Jin Dong, the film showcases Tanzania’s iconic sites such as Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti National Park, and the beaches of Zanzibar. According to Dr. Hassan Abbasi, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, this project has significantly increased Chinese tourist arrivals, with a reported 69% rise compared to previous years.
Presented in China earlier this year, the film supports the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Tanzania and China, commemorated as a “Year of Culture and Tourism” between the two countries. This cultural partnership aligns with Tanzania’s goal to attract five million international visitors annually by 2025.
