Yanga’s coach, Miguel Gamondi, has stated that the current competition for spots within the club has led to positive results heading into the new league season and international competitions.
Miguel mentioned that the signings they made this season will bring good results because every player has great potential and wants to showcase something every time they get a chance to play.

“There has been significant competition from training sessions to competitive friendly matches. Additionally, the signings we made have substantial benefits, and I am confident that the team will perform very well in the upcoming season because the players themselves are competing for spots,” Gamondi said.
He noted that the new additions to his squad are greatly fueling competition, which is exactly what he wanted to happen.
“For instance, if you look at our signings, they were very strategic, and we did not want to let our star players leave, so we managed to keep them. Moreover, we did not want to be complacent with our squad, so we decided to add a bit more strength to increase competition, and we are seeing the results,” he said.
He added that their major goals are to defend the Premier League title, win the FA Cup, and advance further in the African Champions League.
Regarding their recent match against TS Galaxy, which they won 1-0, Gamondi said it was a good test for them.
“Every player who got a chance showcased something; it was a good match, and I am pleased with what my players did, so we continue to build our team,” Gamondi said.
Yanga is expected to play another match in the Toyota Cup against Kaizer Chiefs before returning to the country for the ‘Mwananchi Week’ festival scheduled for August 4.
