A, 26-year-old Kenyan radio presenter, Oleman Learat, who works with Wambaz Community Radio, has announced his intentions to marry two twin sisters, Anne Samken and Emily Salaon, both aged 20.
The young presenter’s decision has drawn public attention due to the unconventional nature of the arrangement.
The twin sisters, who are inseparable, have expressed their mutual desire to marry the same man, citing that they cannot imagine being separated. “We have never been apart since kindergarten,” said Emily in an interview. Their decision to marry Oleman is driven by their close bond, and they have come to terms with the arrangement that sees them sharing one husband.
Anne and Emily are currently students at KCA University in Nairobi and have stated that, despite their marriage plans, they aim to continue their education. The twins explained that they faced an attempt at separation by their teachers in 2021 when they were placed in different classrooms, but the experience left them deeply saddened and lonely.
Oleman, who began dating the sisters in 2023, shared his unique journey in coming to terms with dating both women. “At first, it was difficult to tell them apart, but now I can differentiate them by how they speak,” he said. He added that their identical looks and synchronized habits initially drew him to them, and now he sees their unity as one of their strongest assets.

Interestingly, the presenter shared that he plans to build separate houses for each sister within the same homestead, allowing them to maintain their close bond while also having their personal space. However, the sisters are hesitant about being separated even in terms of housing, stating, “It will be difficult for us to live separately.”
The proposal to marry both sisters has been met with curiosity and surprise from Oleman’s family, though they have not outright rejected the idea. “My family hasn’t objected, but they have a lot of questions,” he admitted. Nevertheless, the presenter is resolute, seeing the marriage as a union with one woman due to the twins’ strong similarities.
Their relationship blossomed after Oleman first met the twins at an entertainment event, where he was captivated by their synchronized behavior and the unique connection they shared. He recalls that it became clear that one could not be approached without involving the other, leading to their mutual affection. “When I call, I have to speak to both of them,” he said, acknowledging their deep bond.
