Arusha Region to Host Grand Year-End Celebrations

The Regional Commissioner of Arusha, Hon. Paul Christian Makonda, has invited residents of Arusha, Tanzanians, and international guests to attend grand year-end celebrations to bid farewell to 2024.

The three-day event will feature 12 nations showcasing traditional cuisines, cultural entertainment, and special prayers to thank God for 2024 and welcome 2025.

Speaking about the event, Hon. Makonda stated that preparations are progressing well, and the celebrations are designed to be a family-friendly occasion. “These celebrations will be unique for families. There will be services, entertainment, and various games available for all age groups, both children and adults,” he said.

The festivities will take place across 12 streets, each representing one month of 2024, which will be specifically closed off for the event. Each street will feature activities showcasing the culture of a participating nation. Musical performances and traditional art displays will also be part of the attractions.

Hon. Makonda encouraged the public to turn out in large numbers, describing the event as an opportunity to celebrate unity, peace, and the achievements of the past year. He assured that all preparations have considered safety and proper coordination for guests from other regions and countries.

The celebrations are expected to draw thousands of participants and provide a unique platform to celebrate cultural diversity, strengthen community bonds, and mark the transition into a new year with joy and gratitude.
