Deputy Minister Calls for Land Budget Evaluation

The Deputy Minister of Lands, Housing, and Human Settlements Development, Hon. Geophrey Pinda, has called on regional Assistant Land Commissioners to meet, evaluate, and establish an action plan for implementing the Ministry of Lands’ budget for the fiscal year 2024/2025.

Hon. Pinda made this statement on July 5, 2024, while speaking to land sector employees in the Tabora region on his way to Kigoma for official duties.

The Assistant Land Commissioner’s office in the Tabora region has established a routine of meeting with land sector employees in the region after the ministry’s budget is approved to evaluate and set an action plan for the new fiscal year’s budget implementation.

The Deputy Minister praised the initiative by the Assistant Land Commissioner’s office, stating that this approach helps understand the direction of the 2024/2025 fiscal year budget.

“This system you have established of meeting, evaluating, and strategizing the implementation of the new fiscal year’s budget is excellent and should be emulated by other regional Assistant Land Commissioners’ offices. It is a significant component of your work plan,” said Hon. Pinda.

He commended the Assistant Land Commissioner for the Tabora region, Husein Sadick, for his good work and innovation in bringing together land sector employees. This practice not only prepares for budget implementation but also addresses challenges within the land sector for the respective year.

For his part, the Assistant Land Commissioner for the Tabora region, Husein Sadick, said that his office has brought together land sector employees in the region to evaluate and plan for the implementation of the 2024/2025 budget, among other activities.

For the 2024/2025 fiscal year, the priorities of the Ministry of Lands include accelerating the planning, surveying, and allocation of land in urban and rural areas, strengthening systems for resolving land disputes, enhancing IT systems for record-keeping, service delivery, and access to land information.
