Just six days after a nationwide blackout, Kenya Power has confirmed another major power outage affecting large parts of the country.
In a statement released on Friday, the company acknowledged the outage, stating that the North Rift and Western regions remain unaffected.The utility company did not specify the cause of the blackout but assured citizens that their technical teams are working diligently to restore electricity.
“We are experiencing a power outage affecting several parts of the country, except sections of North Rift and Western regions. We apologise for the inconvenience and kindly ask for your patience as our engineers work swiftly to restore service,” the statement read.
Kenya Power also promised to keep the public informed of any developments in the restoration process. “We will keep you updated on the progress and share more information on the restoration efforts as soon as possible,” the company added.

The latest outage follows the August 30th blackout, which similarly affected most parts of Kenya, excluding the North Rift and Western regions. The recurrent power failures have raised concerns among the public regarding the reliability of the country’s power infrastructure.
