President Mwinyi Urges Private Sector Participation in Economy

The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has called on stakeholders participating in the 13th Zanzibar Business Forum to engage in thorough and effective discussions to ultimately create an inclusive system for the private sector to fully participate in economic strengthening.

President Dr. Mwinyi made this call on October 12, 2024, during the opening of the forum at the Golden Tulip Hotel at the airport, located in the Western Urban District of Unguja.

Additionally, President Dr. Mwinyi emphasized the importance of involving the private sector in solving the challenges of doing business in the country.

He stated that the forum presents a crucial opportunity to bring together government leaders, public sector representatives, and private sector stakeholders to discuss the better future of conducting business in Zanzibar.

Furthermore, President Dr. Mwinyi informed attendees that the establishment of dry ports in Fumba and Maruhubi is part of efforts to create a conducive business environment.

He also assured stakeholders and the private sector that the government is genuinely committed to addressing challenges and establishing better business systems.
