President Samia Suluhu Hassan, has officiated the inauguration of a new water reservoir at the Mtibwa Sugar factory in Morogoro region. This reservoir, expected to revolutionize sugar production in the country, has been constructed to improve irrigation and increase sugarcane yield.
Speaking at the event, President Samia highlighted that this project is part of the government’s efforts to enhance the agricultural and industrial sectors in Tanzania. She noted that the reservoir would significantly alleviate water supply challenges for irrigating sugarcane at the Mtibwa Sugar factory and emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in achieving development goals.

In her speech, President Samia commended the employees and management of Mtibwa Sugar for their efforts and significant contribution to the sugar sector in the country. She encouraged them to continue their efforts to increase production and ensure that Tanzania becomes self-sufficient in sugar.
