Pakistan is reportedly likely to skip an upcoming Ukraine peace conference hosted by Switzerland in mid-June.
The summit is scheduled for June 15-16 at the Burgenstock Resort near Lucerne. Over 160 countries have been invited, including G7, G20, BRICS, and EU members.
However, Russia has not been invited to the conference, which is putting Pakistan in a “delicate position” diplomatically.
An unnamed Pakistani diplomatic source cited by Pakistan Today said Russia’s absence and Western diplomatic pressure have made Pakistan’s attendance at the summit uncertain.

This would be the first time Pakistan has been invited to such an international conference on the Ukraine conflict.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson confirmed the invitation is under consideration, but the country is seeking to maintain its “neutrality” in the Russia-Ukraine war.
China has also announced it will not attend the Swiss-proposed peace summit, as its conditions for participation have not been met. Beijing says it will only contribute if both Russia and Ukraine are present.
Pakistan is likely to skip the upcoming Ukraine peace conference in Switzerland due to its desire to preserve its neutral position in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
