The Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. January Makamba, on Monday ,engaged in discussions with the Russian Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Andrey Avetisyan.The meeting primarily centered around enhancing collaboration in the tourism sector.
During the meeting, both parties deliberated on the significance of bolstering ties in tourism to promote mutual benefits. The focus was on leveraging Tanzania’s diverse tourist attractions to attract more visitors from Russia and foster a thriving tourism exchange between the two nations.
The talks underscored the potential for increased cooperation through tourism initiatives, aiming to deepen the relationship between Russia and Tanzania while exploring opportunities for sustainable tourism development.
Some of the expected outcomes include the signing of the Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA).
Both Russia and Tanzania can boast of a multitude of captivating tourism sites that have the potential to enhance bilateral cooperation .
