The Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Minerals, Msafiri Mbibo, has urged investors to seize investment opportunities in the mining sector, particularly in geological research using modern technology to discover new mining sites.
Mbibo made these remarks on October 29, 2024, during a meeting with a delegation from the Federal Agency for Minerals Resources of the Russian Federation in Dar es Salaam, which was participating in the Tanzania-Russian Business and Investment Forum.
In the discussions, Mbibo emphasized the importance of establishing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Federal Agency for Minerals Resources of the Russian Federation and the Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST) to enhance collaborative research efforts.
Additionally, Mbibo met with the CEO of Business Development representing Sberbank International in the Sub-Saharan Africa region to explore possibilities for funding research projects and geological disaster investigations, including earthquakes, landslides, and floods.
He reiterated that Tanzania is a safe country for investment and encouraged the delegation to invest in geological research using modern technology to identify new areas with mineral indications.

In response, Andrey Vorobieve, the leader of the delegation, assured the Deputy Permanent Secretary that all the matters discussed in their talks and during the two-day forum will be implemented through collaboration.
The meeting was preceded by a technical session held on October 28, 2024, which also included the Deputy Permanent Secretary and the CEO of GST, Dr. Mussa Budeba.
