The children went missing on July 24, 2024, and the reports spread yesterday after they were not seen within 24 hours as directed by the Police Force.
Arusha Regional Police Commander, SACP Justine Masejo, stated that in the preliminary investigation, they suspect the children’s father might be involved in the incident.
“The investigation to locate the children is still ongoing, but initially, we are looking for their father first to confirm our suspicions. We will provide a complete report later,” said Commander Masejo.
He explained that the reason for suspecting the father is due to a recurrence of a similar incident that occurred a year ago.
“We suspect the father because this is not the first time these children have been reported missing,” said Masejo.
“Last year, the children were reported missing under similar circumstances, and during the search, we found them safe with their father in Karatu District. So now we suspect it might be a similar situation,” Masejo added.
