Hon. Kitandula stated that the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism recognizes the significant contribution of various Tanzanian cultures in promoting cultural tourism.

Representing the Minister of Natural Resources and Tourism, Hon. Angellah Kairuki (MP), at the fundraiser, Hon. Kitandula quoted the late President Julius Kambarage Nyerere who once said, “A nation without its culture is a dead nation.” Therefore, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism takes pride in communities that value their culture and will continue to support them.
Welcoming Hon. Kitandula, Dr. Mboni Ruzegea, a member of the National Museum Board, representing the Chairman of the Board, said that Culture Day in Tanzania is a festival established by the National Museum Board in 1994 to provide an opportunity for various communities in the country to showcase their cultures at the Village Museum.
Dr. Mboni added that since its inception in 1994, the festival has seen over 36 communities showcase their customs and traditions to Tanzanians and various visitors. The festival displays traditional homes of the respective communities, indigenous foods and drinks, traditional artifacts depicting the real-life aspects of the community, development issues, and investment opportunities in regions and districts.
Furthermore, during the inaugural fundraiser, Tanzanian Shillings 81,533,199 were pledged towards the success of the festival.
