Secretary of Ideology, Publicity, and Training for the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Amos Makalla urged Tanzanians to remain vigilant and reject divisive rhetoric that threatens national stability.
Speaking at a public rally in Monduli, specifically at Mto wa Mbu, Makalla emphasized the importance of unity and peace, urging citizens to resist any incitement to hatred or violence.
Makalla assured the audience that the upcoming general elections would be conducted fairly, with the CCM committed to ensuring transparency throughout the process. “The candidate who wins will be the one announced,” he declared, underlining the party’s dedication to democratic principles and national cohesion.
In his address, Makalla also addressed concerns circulating among some groups regarding the fate of pastoralists. He refuted claims by certain politicians suggesting that pastoralists might be forcibly relocated or excluded from the country, labeling these rumors as unfounded and dangerous.
“We do not have another Tanzania. We must not allow ourselves to be divided by individuals with hidden agendas. Let us protect our peace at all costs. President Samia Suluhu Hassan is deeply concerned for the pastoralist community, which is why her administration has initiated numerous development projects to enhance their livelihoods,” Makalla stated.

He further emphasized that protests and demonstrations are not a means to build schools or health centers, but rather a waste of precious time and resources. Makalla’s speech comes amidst rising political tensions as the general elections approach, and his remarks served as a call for peace and unity in a politically charged climate.
Makalla reiterated the necessity of vigilance against divisive politics, urging Tanzanians to focus on ongoing development projects across the country. “We have one country, and it is our duty to preserve its peace,” he concluded.
