Makamba Engages Icelandic Investors In Tanzania

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Hon. January Makamba, engaged in talks with Icelandic investors who are currently in the country to evaluate potential investment opportunities across different sectors .

The discussions, held  at the Ministry’s office in Dar Es Salaam. focused on sharing diverse information and experiences in the business and investment sector to aid investors in formulating strategies for investment implementation in the country.

Speaking with the investors, January Makamba, emphasized the strategic reforms undertaken by the Sixth Phase Government in creating a conducive investment environment under the leadership of  President Samia Suluhu Hassan.

He explained that despite the peaceful political environment in the country, reforms made in various areas including investment policies and laws have continued to make Tanzania a prime investment destination in the East African region.

Miar Gunnarsson ,expressed his satisfaction and interest in the ongoing efforts by the Government of Tanzania to improve the business and investment environment, leading them to choose Tanzania as one of their priority countries for investment plans.

The Director of International Business and Economic Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador John Ulanga, affirmed that Tanzania’s rapid economic growth played a pivotal role in attracting investors. Highlighting that the country’s economic progress, coupled with other factors, served as a significant allure for many investors seeking to establish their presence and invest in Tanzania.

While in the country, these investors will meet and hold discussions with leaders and officials from various Ministries and Government Institutions.

Foreign investors are increasingly flocking to Tanzania, drawn by the allure of President Samia’s royal tour documentary. The captivating portrayal of Tanzania’s rich culture and promising economic landscape showcased in the documentary has sparked a surge in interest from international investors.

As a result, the country has witnessed a significant influx of foreign capital and business engagements, signaling a growing confidence in Tanzania’s investment potential.

President Samia’s diplomatic efforts and strategic initiatives have not only elevated Tanzania’s global profile but have also positioned the nation as an attractive destination for foreign investments across various sectors and also increased economic collaborations and partnerships with other countries.
