A new state-of-the-art stadium is set to be constructed in the Arusha region and is expected to be named after President Samia Suluhu Hassan, pending her approval.
During an interview on Wasafi radio, Gerson Msigwa, the Permanent Secretary for Culture, Arts, and Sports, mentioned that the proposed name is a tribute to President Samia’s contributions to sports, arts, and culture, which have significantly contributed to Tanzania’s development.
The stadium, with a projected seating capacity of 30,000, will be located in Olmonti Ward within the region. If approved, it will join other stadiums in Tanzania named after former presidents, such as the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, Kambarage Stadium, and Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium. These stadiums honor the legacies of past leaders who have played pivotal roles in Tanzania’s history,
