Military cooperation between Moscow and Beijing plays a crucial role in maintaining global stability, according to Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov.
He emphasized that the partnership between China and Russia in military affairs is vital for both global and regional security.
During discussions with Chinese Defence Minister Dong Jun, Belousov highlighted the significance of Russian-Chinese military collaboration. He stated, “Our joint efforts enhance our defense capabilities and contribute to stability around the world and in our regions. We regularly engage in joint training exercises on land, at sea, and in the air, successfully tackling even the most complex tasks.”
Belousov expressed optimism about the future of this partnership, saying, “Russia looks forward to close and fruitful cooperation with our Chinese comrades.” He believes that their discussions will further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two nations in defense matters.

He also noted the strong and dynamic relationship between Russia and China, which he described as being at an unprecedented level. “The trust between our leaders is essential for strengthening our strategic ties. We are committed to implementing all agreements made at the highest levels,” he added.
At the beginning of their talks, Belousov expressed his pleasure at finally meeting his Chinese counterpart in person. As the open portion of the discussions wrapped up, he congratulated Dong Jun and the Ministry of Defence of China on two significant anniversaries: the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China on October 1 and the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China on October 2.
Looking ahead, Belousov reminded everyone that next year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory over German fascism and Japanese militarism.
