ONE of the leading manufacturers of white cement, JK White Cement (Africa) Limited, will begin local production mid-this year from its plant currently being constructed in Mkuranga District, Coast Region
The JK White Cement Head of Sales and Marketing, Ms Felista Masabo, said the plant the construction was going in good pace and has reached 50 per cent of construction.
“We have reached 50 per cent of plant construction and coming June we are looking forward to start producing our products locally,” Ms Masabo said during a painter seminar held here and organised by JK White Cement.
The seminar brought together some 500 painters in Mwanza Region who were educated on the white cement, wall putty, plasters and tile adhesives products.
Ms Masabo said they are targeting to reach over 10,000 painters in Lake Zone this year.
A painter from Kitangiri ward, Mr Juma Maduhu, said the seminars on construction techniques will help painters to keep abreast with changes in wall painting technology.
